During the preparation phase, before the patient enters the treatment room, a nurse administers sedatives and painkillers orally, in accordance with the doctor’s guidelines.

It is not recommended for patients to take any medications on their own, unless they require some special premedication and have informed the ophthalmic surgeon in advance.
