A past laser vision correction procedure is not a contraindication to a natural labour. However, it is essential to evaluate the condition of the retina prior to labour as vision defects (especially more severe ones) may be related to retinal impairment. Laser vision correction consists in reshaping the surface of the cornea. This means that the condition of the retina does not change following the procedure.
Before labour, you should make an appointment for a specialist ophthalmological examination. During the examination, you should discuss potential indications for the caesarean section with the doctor.
