Laser vision correction does not require any special preparation on the patient’s part. However, it is important to remember that you should stop wearing soft contact lenses at least 7 days before the surgery and if you wear hard or toric lenses (correcting astigmatism), you should stop wearing them approximately 3 weeks beforehand.
The convalescence after the surgery may look differently depending on patient’s individual features and the chosen correction method. We assume that the corneal healing process lasts about a month. Patient are not excluded from life during this time, yet they have to follow certain recommendations and observe temporary restrictions – for instance, avoid staying in dusty environments, swimming in a pool, sea or lake, using a sauna and doing demanding physical exercises (such as heavy weightlifting). Vision stabilisation may take up to 6 months before the intended results are obtained.
