Lyme disease is not an absolute contraindication to undergoing a laser vision correction procedure; however, its acute phase (or inflammation in the eye) may cause the surgery to be postponed for some time.

To be qualified for the one-day procedure, it will be necessary to a certificate from the attending physician attesting to the lack of inflammation in the body caused by Lyme disease and to the lack of contraindications to performing the correction surgery. Patients are also asked to bring their treatment history with them to the qualifying examination.
