The result of the objective refractometer examination (computer eye examination) determines only an approximate optical correction (power of glasses or contact lenses) that can be applied. The result is influenced by many factors, such as the degree of eye hydration, eye fatigue, possible infection of the body or the eyes. If you do not feel that your glasses are weaker despite a change by 0.25 dioptres on the computer prin-tout, it may mean that the refractive error has not increased.
The values you are talking about fall within the opening range of the laser – myopia can be corrected up to -14 dioptres. To ultimately determine whether the procedure can be performed or not, you must undergo a qualifying examination. The ophthalmic surgeon will perform all necessary measurements, including the measurement of epithelial and corneal thickness as well as the shape and curvature of the cornea. They will also select the most suitable correction method for you.
