In the case of the SBK LASIK correction method, the vision stabilises more quickly, and the patient experiences only minor painful sensations for usually not longer than 24 hours. This is due to the fact that during the procedure a corneal flap is created which is then put back in place after the correction has been performed.

After the laser vision correction performed using this method, the patient needs to be especially careful not to do anything that could cause the displacement of the corneal flap. For this reason, the SBK LASIK is not recommended to people who lead an active lifestyle and practise sports, especially contact ones. The SBK LASIK method requires that patients significantly limit physical effort for at least 30 days following the procedure.

If the patient is a very active person, provided their corneal parameters are appropriate, and the refractive error is not too severe, the TransPRK method will be a better solution. Although the ailments after the procedure will be slightly more noticeable and the vision will stabilise gradually, a definite advantage of this method will be the possibility of returning to physical activity much earlier – even as soon as 14 days after the procedure, depending on the course of the healing process.

A number of factors influence the price of various laser vision correction methods, including the cost of medical materials or special dedicated disposable tools that are used during the procedure performed with a given method, and medications you will be provided with for the convalescence period.
