Immediately after the procedure the effect is visible enough for the patient not to require glasses or contact lenses to function normally. The estimated corneal healing time is approximately one month regardless of the correction method. During this time slight fluctuations in vision and potential light effects, e.g. bright circles (halos) around light bulbs, may occur. As far as the final results of the procedure, it may take up to a few months for the vision to stabilise.
