Following the laser vision correction surgery performed with the use of the correction methods offered in our clinic, there are no contraindications to travelling by plane. What needs to be taken into account while booking the airline tickets, however, is the date of the first, mandatory follow-up examination – it can be scheduled either a day (SBK LASIK) or a week (TransPRK, LASEK) after the procedure.

We normally conduct qualifying examinations and laser vision correction procedures on Tuesdays and Thursdays. At the registration stage, depending on the availability of dates, patients can adjust the date of the appointment to their plans. We suggest making an appointment 3-4 weeks in advance.

Directly after the correction surgery, the patient may experience the following ailments: the feeling of a foreign body in the eye, tearing, stinging under the eyelids or pain. The intensity of the above symptoms and the time needed for them to wear off depend largely on the correction method applied during the procedure. They usually disappear after 1-3 days. More information on the post-operative recommendations that should be followed after the laser vision correction procedure is available in the articles on our website: “Laser vision correction – post-operative recommendations” and “When is it possible to return to practising sports after laser vision correction?”.
