Your refractive error falls within the acceptable range possible to be corrected with laser, which is from -14.0 dioptres to +6.0 dioptres in case of short-/far-sightedness and up to 6 dioptres in case of astigmatism. Laser vision correction corrects both of these errors as well as their different combinations.
1. The procedure gives you the possibility to see as clearly as in most accurately chosen glasses.
2. The cost of the surgery depends on the method you will be qualified for. The cost of a bilateral surgery oscillates between 5900 PLN and 6400 PLN. In case of a one-day-procedure mode (preliminary qualifying examination and surgery on the same day) the cost of the examination (250 PLN) is deducted from the total cost of the procedure. The cost of the procedure includes a pair special sunglasses, eye shields and eye drops which should be administered for the first month after the surgery, as well as the first follow-up examination a week after the surgery.
3. Thyroid diseases are not a contraindication to laser vision correction. However, in order to be qualified for the procedure it is necessary to provide a medical certificate from your endocrinologist attesting to the degree of the disease, stabilisation of hormone levels and lack of contraindications to a laser vision correction surgery. It should be taken into consideration that thyroid diseases may slow down the healing process in the eyes and prolong the convalescence period.
4. Following a laser vision correction procedure it is recommended to refrain from any activities involving extensive physical effort. It does not mean, however, that it is not allowed to do some mild exercise such as jogging, stretching or brisk walking. It is advised to avoid lifting weights and doing sports which cause increased intraocular pressure. You should refrain from indoor climbing for the first month after the surgery.
