The convalescence period following laser vision correction depends on the method chosen for the procedure. In case of an SBK LASIK surgery you can return to your everyday activities on the very next day afterwards (with only some limitations for the period of two weeks to two months), whereas following a TransPRK or LASEK procedure patients complain of intense pain for about 2-4 days, which prevents them from working. Patients are advised to return to work a week after the surgery regardless of the method. Since your work causes eye strain, it is recommendable to take breaks every 45-60minutes, and attempt to alter the activities so that you do not need to work in front of the computer all the time. The cost of the surgery includes eye drops, which have to be applied a few times per day for the first 30 days after the procedure. For the time of your absence from work the doctor will provide you with a sick note, covering the desired period of up to 30 days.
