I am interested in undergoing a Laser Vision Correction (Lasik). My errors are OS -1.25, OD +5.0. My main problem is that the error has progressed from 0 (left eye) and +3 (right eye) to the current state in just 3 years. What is more, from my observations, it seems as if it is progressing even further. Is that a contraindication for a laser vision correction? For how long should the error be stable? Progressing visual impairment is not necessarily a contraindication for a laser vision correction. However, the error should be stable for at least a year. The progress reported by you is not that big, but we still would need more information (e.g. your age) to fully answer your questions. What is more, it would be best if you could come for a qualifying examination which would additionally help to rule out any contraindications. Specialist medical tests and full anamnesis will help to determine whether you are a good candidate for a laser vision correction.
