I have already read quite a lot on laser vision correction methods and complications. I have 3 more questions:
1. Is the surgery at your Centre ‘tailored’ basing on the results of the preliminary examination and map of the cornea or is the laser ‘preset’?
2. I am wondering about the complications connected with night vision after SBK Lasik surgery – is the optic sphere of your laser big enough to be used on larger pupils? Also, what is the probability of onset of less or more transient dry eye syndrome after SBK Lasik surgery?
3. I work as an IT specialist. Can working in front of a computer for long hours be a cause of a regression of a total correction? Currently: OS -5.5D astigmatism -3.5D; OD -5,5D, astigmatism -4.5D.

1. The course of the surgery is planned according to the results of corneal mapping and the refractive test (objective and subjective). Performing a Custom HOA (Higher Order Aberrations) correcting surgery is not recommended as it may result in removing much more of the corneal epithelium than a surgery using so called ‘preset’ laser.
2. SBK method is not connected with optical sphere (it can be 8,0nm max). It is not recommended to widen the optical sphere in high refractive errors. In comparison with conventional LASIK method, the SBK surgeries are followed by lower degree of ailments connected with the Dry Eye Syndrome.

3. Working in front of a computer should not cause a relapse, however, in a case of such severe astigmatism (3,5D and 4,5D), a possibility of regression cannot be ruled out.
