I have been wearing contact lenses for 30 years. I have a refractive error of -7,0 dioptres in the right eye and -6,75 dioptres in the left eye. Currently I also have difficulty with reading. Is there a solution to my problem? How long before a qualifying examination and the surgery do I have to stop wearing contact lenses?

Your refractive error is possible to correct. After the age of 40-45 a need to use reading glasses appear. It is a result of a natural process which begins at this age. Following a laser vision correction procedure you will only use reading glasses. You have to refrain from wearing contact lenses for at least one day prior to the qualifying examination and at least 7 days before the surgery itself and before a one-day procedure (qualifying examination and surgery on the same day).
