Ophthalmologists who perform laser vision correction procedures are also qualified microsurgeons. They constantly train and have extensive knowledge in the field of refractive surgery, which is not possessed by ophthalmologists who are not surgeons and who only deal with eye examination, selection of glasses and treatment of eye diseases.
What is more, during a qualifying examination a number of tests are conducted and measurements are taken using a specialist equipment which an ordinary ophthalmologist does not need to have in their office – e.g. a device called Oculyzer, which is used to take the measurements of the anterior segment of the eye, including the topography (map) of the cornea.
To initially exclude potential contraindications and check whether your refractive error qualifies for the laser vision correction procedure, we need you to submit a filled-in online preliminary qualification form.
