Lyme disease is not an absolute contraindication to a laser vision correction procedure; however, its acute stage (or ocular inflammation), may temporarily delay the decision to perform the surgery. A one-day procedure or the surgery itself may be performed only after the inflammation is cured and the antibiotic treatment is finished.
