Is it possible to avoid the use of needles in any of the laser correction methods? I would rather not have any anaesthetic injected or have a needle put into my eye. I faint every time I have a blood test, so I cannot imagine a needle in my eye.

Needles are not used during a laser vision correction surgery. The patient receives local anaesthetic in the form of eye drops. When laser is in use, the eyelids are kept open with a special distractor to prevent blinking. The patient is conscious and aware of the procedure, yet it is completely painless, and the only thing the patient may feel is the touch on the face.
