Is there a chance that the impairment will ‘come back’ few years after the surgery? Is there any kind of guarantee that the refractive error will not come back to its previous state?

It all depends on the original refractive error. If it is not a complicated case of astigmatism or a severe impairment (-6.0 and more), the effects of the surgery are stable for a long time.
