Will I receive a sick note from the doctor for the day of the surgery and the first few days afterwards? What is convalescence period like? Is it necessary to refrain from physical activity during the convalescence time and if so – for how long?

You can obtain a sick note for the time of your absence from work starting from the day of the surgery. The price of the procedure includes special eye drops which should be applied strictly according to the doctor’s recommendations for the first 30 days following the surgery. You will be also provided with a pair of sunglasses to wear outdoors for at least 3 weeks after the procedure. Following laser vision correction, it is strongly advised to refrain from intensive physical effort. You may jog, stretch or go for a brisk walk, but you shouldn’t do any activities involving heavy lifting and sports which may cause increased intraocular pressure. During the first month after the surgery, it is also recommended to avoid going to a swimming pool or a sauna as well as swimming in the sea.
